Amélie Sharples

Founder and President

Amélie Sharples is a senior at Redmond High School. Her interest in space began as she studied the phases of the moon in middle school, and throughout high school she has read books about space, completed Coursera courses on astrophysics and astrobiology, and written essays on space topics such as exoplanets. She holds a fascination for any and all space mysteries, from dark energy to black holes to super-Earths. In her junior year, she joined a program called Western Aerospace Scholars that concludes with a short summer experience where participants design a mission to Mars. Amélie believes that space research and exploration is paramount to our future, and she created The AstroNet to encourage others to learn more about and engage in this rapidly evolving field. In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute, skiing, and hiking.

He read many books about space and continued to expand his knowledge until he could take more online courses on it. He has also been involved with science through school by competing in HOSA ILC. Through The AstroNet, he hopes to broaden his understanding of space and explore deeper into subjects such as wormholes and spacetime, and sharing this journey with others. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing piano, and biking.

Sanjali Vuriti

Secretary

Sanjali Vuriti is a senior at Redmond High School. She joined The AstroNet because of her interest in space, which began at a young age when she first learned to use a telescope. It raised her curiosity about the prospect of there being so much more in the universe that is unknown to humankind. She has been involved in science related areas through participation in the National Science Olympiad and taking pre-college summer courses. She is fascinated by supernovae and black holes, and hopes to explore some of the many other aspects of outer space through this club. In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing, and playing tennis.

Kriti Sharma

Public Relations

Kriti Sharma is a junior at Redmond High School. Her passion for science began in middle school, when she joined several different science activities and participated in many science competitions, such as National Science Olympiad and NSB. She’s continues to challenge herself with intriguing AP science classes along with extra science activities. Over the past few years, Kriti has been determined to make an impact on students interested in science, and providing new ways and opportunities for students to be involved. She joined The AstroNet for that exact reason, along with her curiosity in space ever since she saw a Solar Eclipse a few years ago. Additionally, she enjoys playing tennis, singing, and spending time with her family and friends.
